Introducing My Way Companions

Hello, I'm Jazmin Singh. I'm delighted to introduce My Way Companions, a friendly, local companionship and home help service for older people and vulnerable adults in Cardiff, Penarth and Barry.

Over 30 years in care

I have worked in care for over 30 years. Alongside that, I have run my own businesses, including childcare businesses registered with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW), the body that regulates care and childcare services in Wales.

Running registered services means working to high standards every day: keeping people safe, staying organised, and keeping families informed. I bring that same care and attention to every visit I make. I am also enhanced DBS checked.

Why I started My Way Companions

I care for my own parents and parents-in-law, so I know first-hand what it is like to worry about the people you love as they get older. I'm always looking for practical ways to help them stay as independent as possible and keep doing the things they enjoy.

A trip to Portugal

Recently, my parents and parents-in-law wanted to visit Portugal, but they were very scared to travel on their own. So I put support in place for them, both going out and coming home: a taxi service for their transfers, and priority assistance at the airport.

The trip was a big success. With the right support in the right places, they were able to go and enjoy it.

That is what My Way Companions is all about: a little help, planned around the person, so they can keep living life their way.

How I can help

  • Companionship and befriending visits
  • Check-in calls and telephone befriending
  • Days out and social outings
  • Shopping help, and someone to take Mum or Dad to hospital and GP appointments
  • Home help: light housework, help with meal preparation, and support with letters and phones
  • A sitting service, so family carers can have a break

I do not provide personal care, such as washing, dressing or medication, but I am happy to work alongside existing carers. You can read more on my services page.
